A B O U T
Sidney Hale is the author of three contemporary queer romance novels, all of which are short, none of which are formulaic, and at least one of which will make you miss your subway stop.
Before writing fiction, she worked as a bookseller and then a freelance editor, which means she has opinions. Loud ones. Frequently expressed in public and on the internet.
She believes that love stories are serious literature, that the HEA is a political act and that any book under 350 pages is inherently more moral than any book over 500 pages. She is open to debate on that point, but she will win.

On Instalove
Two people recognizing each other immediately is not the problem. Not earning what comes next is the problem. These are different problems.
01
On HEAs
"Happy for now" is a valid ending and I will die on this hill. You don't owe the reader a wedding. You owe them honesty.
03
On Tropes
There is no such thing as a tired trope, only tired execution. Enemies-to-lovers is load-bearing infrastructure. Treat it with respect.
